Samsung's Galaxy A51 2020

And with the mobile middle range segment being evermore saturated than ever before, I decided now is a good idea to evaluate a smartphone that is selling in huge numbers over the globe, Samsung’s Galaxy A51. It has a restrained but good looking design, Samsung's A51 has quad rear camera setup, an amoled screen with a centrally located punch-hole selfie camera, and a glass-tastick rear back.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 has been up selling throughout UK since February while the device launched in the USA in April 2020 and also retails at about $399.99/£329.

Evaluating The A51's Performance And Speed

The AMOLED display is good as you expect from this company}, the colors are so bright with handset's viewing angles are quite superb. There is not much to whinge about and yet those folks as expected will find something, other than it’s a little dim (but very legible) when it is in sunlight and circumstances are not great for viewing, even when the brightness fully on.
This where reviewing top of the line smartphones like the Oppo Find X2 Pro 5G as well as the One Plus 8 is hurtful in achieving a balanced perspective of a middle range smartphone like this little device.
The processor won't compare to the flagship CPU in any way, and going from the range topping processor to Snapdragon's 865 processor is a sobering experience until you eventually understand that Samsung's A51 is just a mid-range device and these limitations must be allowed for.
There's no mistaking that, this device is unresponsive sometimes however I was left wondering whether the handset had indeed recognised my touch or not when trying to open some app or share something.
Frankly, it is a level of lag that we haven’t seen for a few years, such as on cheaper devices which costs just £140.
And as for the handset's in-display fingerprint scanner, suffice to say that Samsung should have stuck it on the rear as I had a success about 50% when trying to unlock the handset then ending up typing the pin code.

Styling And Design

Owing to the glass-ticky back, the Galaxy A51 does not look or feel like it's a mid-range device, the plastic construction appears forgiving in the grip in that there are no sharp edges you sometimes see with devices with rear panels built of glass that has been toughened.
The subtle design trait on the back panel is a nice touch as well as it gives some class to the Galaxy A51. Often the branding on budget phones is a smidgen overdone sometimes, Samsung's logo has been modestly placed.
You see a selfie camera setup which, for some reason, is made even prominent by what seems to be a metallic circle around it that attracts your eyes.
Audiophiles are sure to be happy in the fact that there's an audio connector located on the handset's bottom, with the USB Type-C port and a speaker.
On the top of the handset houses a microphone while the right hand edge there is a power button and loudness rocker and the SIM card tray place on the left edge.
Overall it’s neat and classy phone that will fit nicely into a normal pocket with ease.
